Radio: deadBatteryMusic Extended #3 at Camp!

The topic of the third episode is: Random -> Algo

Am 10.4.2026 um 15 Uhr geht die dritte Sendung von deadBatteryMusic Extended auf Camp Radio auf Sendung. Das Thema der Radiosendung lautete: "Random -> Algo". Musik mit dem Würfel, dem Zufall, wilden Resets oder nicht musikalischen impulsen.

Die ersten beiden Stücke kommen von Peter Androsch mit dem Titel "Trattato Secondo" mit der fulminaten Mariko Onishi am Klavier und dem elektroakustischen "Aus dem Leben der Libelle". Großartige Musik die sehr zufallsbehaftet von Peter "komponiert" wurde. Dann wird es bleepiger, wenn funkyLFO in Hollyhock5 mit einem Knopfdruck 10 - 30 Funktionen ändert, ohne zu wissen wo die Reise im Stück "Having Fun With Randomness" hingeht. Das nächste Stück kommt von mir, von Wolfgang Dorninger. Es sind drei Stücke, die ich für sie in einem Stück aufgefädelt habe. Der erste Teil wurde mit dem ersten Interactive Sound Mixer #1 erstellt, der zweite mit dem Interactive Synthetic Bird Sound Mixer und der dritte mit dem Interactive Sound Mixer #2. Wenn du auf die Links klickst, kannst du online Feldaufnahmen, kleine Soundschnipsel, Beats, Geräusche und mit Schaltkreisen manipulierte Klänge aus dem Musikarchiv von Wolfgang Dorninger miteinander mischen. Der musikalische Vorbote auf die nächste Sendung unter dem Motto "Fieldrecordings" kommt von Dorninger und hat den schönen Titel "Micro-Move" und ist auf der doppel 7 Inch "Membrane" auf base records erschienen.

On April 10, 2026, at 3 p.m., the third episode of deadBatteryMusic Extended will air on Camp Radio. The theme of the radio show was: “Random -> Algo.” Music featuring dice, chance, wild resets, or non-musical impulses.

The first two pieces are by Peter Androsch: “Trattato Secondo,” featuring the brilliant Mariko Onishi on piano, and the electroacoustic “Aus dem Leben der Libelle”. Great music that was “composed” by Peter in a highly random manner. Then things get bleepier when funkyLFO changes 10–30 functions in Hollyhock5 with the push of a button, without knowing where the journey in the piece “Having Fun With Randomness” is headed. The next piece is by me, Wolfgang Dorninger. It consists of three pieces that I’ve strung together into one. The first part was created with the first Interactive Sound Mixer #1, the second with the Interactive Synthetic Bird Sound Mixer, and the third with the Interactive Sound Mixer #2. The radio show deadBatteryMusic Extended consists of four “unholy” elements: deadBatteryMusic, Drones -> Cinematic, Random (Algo) Music, and Field Recordings.

deadBatteryMusic presents music from a research series initiated by Uwe Schüler and Ralf Schreiber at the KulturgüterSchuppen in Dußlingen, which has been researched by a loose group since 2025. It deals with The Art of Power Starving in dealing with CMOS chips and the crazy sounds that arise at minimal voltages.

Drones -> Cinematic presents music that is very rhythmic at times, but without a beat. It is about soundscapes, acoustic spaces, and sound surfaces that usually only produce unusual sounds in a very small tonal range.

Random (Algo) Music presents musical constructs that are difficult to control during play, but are based on compositions of circuits and signal generators. The technical setup becomes the composition, the play becomes fun!

Field Recordings presents sound recordings that are mixed randomly using Wolfgang Dorninger's Interactive Sound Mixer.

One “unholy” element characterizes a 60-minute broadcast of deadBatteryMusic Extended.
