On December 25, 2000, I rode my bicycle and my camera in my hand through the parking lots of the shopping malls in the north of the city of Tucson, Arizona. A very strange atmosphere, spooky, ghostly and frightening. So much empty space that is only used 12 hours a day. The sun shines almost all year round in Tucson and I wondered why so much money was lying idle. I thought about roofs with photovoltaic panels to provide electricity for cooling, ventilation and the short heating season. Why do capitalists just leave money lying on the street, was my loud question while I was cycling and filming. Why this waste? Why do they forgo this revenue? And still today, 24 years later, even in Germany or Austria. I'm still shocked!
